Hiring an accountant
Fresh out of accounting school, I went to a interview for a good paying job at Condos. The owners asked various questions about me and my education, but then finally asked, "What is three times seven?"
"Twenty-two," I replied.
After I left, I double-checked this on my calculator (I knew I should have taken it to the interview!) and realized I wouldn't get the job.
About two weeks later, I got a letter that said I was hired for the job! Stareman and I were not ones to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I was still very curious.
When I finally arrived in the DR I went in and asked why I got the job, even though I got such a simple question wrong.
The owner's rep shrugged and said, "Well, you were the closest."
