Effective this Thursday, April 16, the new Condos cabled and WiFi internet system will be switched from an open hotspot which allows anyone to connect, to a secured system to prevent unauthorized users from accessing the system. The new system will make use of both a simple password, and your PC's unique "MAC" addresses. Only computer devices whose unique MAC address has been entered into our servers will be able to access the Condos Dominicano internet. All others will be blocked automatically.
DETERMINE YOUR PC'S "MAC" ADDRESS
To connect, first please email or stop by with the MAC addresses of any laptop or PC you wish to connect to the internet. You can determine this in Windows by clicking START > RUN and then typing CMD. The MAC address is a 12 digit series of numbers and letters listed as the "Physical Address" as in the image below. Please note that if you have more than one adaptor in your machine, such as a wireless adaptor, and a standard cabled ethernet adaptor, you will have a physical address for each. If so, please provide us with all of those, so we can be sure you have access both through WiFi and through the standard cabled internet as well. Any time you add a new PC or change ethernet cards or adaptors you will need to give us the new MAC address so you can be programmed into the system for access.

TCP/IP SETTINGS
Under your PC's TCP/IP settings click the radio button next to "Obtain an IP address automatically" to set your PC to automatically retrieve it's IP address via DHCP. Below, check the radio button next to "Use the following DNS server addresses" and then enter 192.3.81.5 in the first box, and 196.3.81.132 in the second box. See the screen images below.

PASSWORD AND ENCRYPTION FOR WIFI
For connections through the WiFi hotspot, you'll also need to set the encryption mode to WPA Personal, TKIP, with a password of "condosdominicanos
